What is “No need for NEET!”?

*NEET = Not in education, employment or training

%

Youth unemployment rate in the EU

%

Youth unemployment rate in SVK

The idea of the project “No Need for NEET!” begun as an initiative of the organization Future Generation Europe, after previous experiences in the projects based on education and activities with youth through non-formal education activities. We can still observe the raising amount of unemployed young people in the EU, which is currently at 18.8%. The unemployment rate of young people in Slovakia, which is the host country for the project is even higher – around 24%, despite continuous efforts to establish and implement new measures, which should increase the motivation and activity of the young people to improve their competences for the labor market.

Therefore, we consider it as important to create a place for young people from the whole Europe to discuss these topics and find inspirative measures to improve this situation. The main aim of this project is to motivate young people through non-formal activities and discussions to actively approach their future and possibilities , that can increase their ability to be successful at the labor market.

This project is directly connected with the aims of the program Erasmus+, which supports higher employment rate, initiatives, self-confidence and self-sufficiency of the young people. This project also tries to strengthen the connection between young people and the labor market, seeks the transparent information about labor market in the EU and helps with the changes in the regional and national policy in the field of the active policy of education and labor market.
